Service Description

GP Consultation to assess suitability for the prescription of medical weight loss injections. The consultation cost is redeemable against treatment with a medical weight loss drug within 1 month. The drugs most commonly prescribed are Wegovy (Semaglutide) and Moujaro (Tirzepatide). These drugs work by suppressing your appetite, keeping you feeling fuller for longer, to help you achieve and maintain a reduced calorie intake. Wegovy and Mounjaro are indicated for people with an elevated BMI an related problems, as an adjunct to a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity to achieve and maintain weight loss. One of the benefits of Wegovy and Mounjaro is the once weekly dosing schedule. The dose starts low and can be increased at 4-weekly intervals if indicated and tolerated. Each Wegovy and Mounjaro pen contains 4 doses, providing 4 weeks of treatment. Wegovy 0.25 mg, 0.5 mg and 1 mg pens cost £199 each. Wegovy 1.7 mg pens cost £249 each. Wegovy 2.4 mg pens cost £299 each. Mounjaro 2.5mg and 5mg pens cost £209 each. Mounjaro 7.5mg and 10mg pens cost £229 each. Mounjaro 12.5mg and 15mg pens cost £249 each. There is a small additional cost for needles if using Mounjaro as they are not supplied with the pens.
